Help Center

GENERAL

Rivet is currently only available in select areas as we gradually roll out the app. So if you're trying to sign up or use Rivet from another location, you'll see that it's unavailable where you are.

We're actively working on expanding to more cities and regions soon. Keep an eye on our socials and website for updates; we're just getting started. Sign up on our waitlist along with your friends to get Rivet to your location faster.

If you're still logged in on any device:

• Go to Settings → Phone number.

• Update your number there and verify it with the new OTP.

• Once that's done, you'll be able to use your new number to log in.

If you're logged out everywhere and no longer have access to your old number, email us at support@rivetdating.com. Include the following information:

• Your full name

• Your old phone number

• Your new phone number

• An image of a government-issued ID that shows your identity (the name on the ID must match your name on Rivet)

Our team will review this and let you know if we can securely restore access. In some cases, we may not be able to recover the original account for safety reasons, and you will be required to create an entirely new account.

To maintain account security and protect against fraud, unauthorized access, and abuse of our platform, we do not allow phone number changes on an ongoing basis once your account is created. This policy ensures that each phone number is linked to only one account, which helps us verify user identity and maintain the integrity of our community.

However, if you've changed your phone number or if you no longer have access to the phone number currently linked to your account, please refer to our account recovery guide for steps on how to regain access to your account.

PROFILE

Rivet uses the information you share during onboarding, including image uploads and voice conversations to create visually engaging profiles. We analyze all the input you give, and organize it into elegant sections with images, short summaries, and quotes that highlight your personality, interests, and unique traits.

You always get to review and approve the final profile before it goes live, so you remain in control and feel seen exactly the way you want. You can edit most of the text and replace/reposition images to make your profile truly yours!

Absolutely! You can highlight and choose what's visible on your profile publicly. You can also come back and edit or update your preferences and interests any time.

Not everything you say is public, so we encourage you to be candid during account creation.

Yes, you can edit before final publishing of your profile as well as any time after by visiting the "Profile" section on the top left of your home screen.

We are constantly working on improving our systems, however it's possible that the image and/or text content may be inaccurate at times.

You can click on 'Edit' and 'Regenerate' to request alternate image and/or text options to your liking. In case you are still unhappy with the output, you can email us at support@rivetdating.com with further details so we can improve our services!

Only the content you approve during the editing preview is visible to others. Your voice conversation is never shared publicly.

Sharing Social Screenshots is entirely optional and up to you! By providing social screenshots, you help us analyze the content on those screenshots to better understand your lifestyle, vibe, and interests. These are NOT displayed to other users or directly made a part of your profile. Screenshots are securely stored and never shared with other users or third parties.

You have full control over which screenshots you submit, they are used solely to enrich your profile and make match pairings for Social Matching more relevant. All data is handled according to strict privacy standards. We can not access any private info like DMs of your social pages, nor will the handle name/id of your social media account be displayed to other users.

If it reflects your interests, personality, or lifestyle and you'd show it to a friend, it's a good screenshot for us. We recommend your profile page on Instagram or LinkedIn.

• For LinkedIn, go to your profile (e.g., https://linkedin.com/in/your-name and screenshot the top page). You can also scroll down and screenshot the experience section and upload both if you like.

• For Instagram, screenshot your own profile page, which showcases your posts. For example:

DO NOT PUT feed screenshots, login screens, empty profiles, pages with no content, or screens that show private/sensitive information.

You can absolutely stay on Rivet only as a Matcher. You can keep your dating profile off/hidden and simply help others by Social Matching.

To switch your profile from Dater to Matcher, navigate to the "Settings" screen on the Rivet app and toggle off the "Dating Active" button.

You can always follow the same process to toggle dating mode back on if you ever change your mind.

SOCIAL MATCHING

Social Matching is a Rivet innovation to bring real human intuition into the dating experience. The community helps curate profiles that fit your personality and preferences so your matches feel more suited to you.

Rivet is built on the idea that helping each other leads to better outcomes for all. Friends and peers can often see your qualities and potential in a way that no algorithm can. Think of the entire community as being on your team - they curate and give you a short list of high-potential connections that you might miss if you were endlessly swiping all by yourself. In short, it's about chemistry, not judgment.

We consider your dating intentions, interests, and preferences to suggest matches that align with your vibe. You are paired with people based on multiple compatibility factors, including intent and goals, shared interests, similar values, and the preferences you share in your profile and then we initiate Social Matching.

That's okay! Social Matching is an exploration. You can skip and not match with a potential recommendation, or unmatch someone you don't like. The more candid and transparent you are on onboarding, the better your pairings will be.

You can also update your preferences in settings or update your profile to help us curate better pairings for you. Feel free to share your feedback with us anytime by emailing us at support@rivetdating.com. It will help us refine our product. Every "no" gets you closer to a "yes."

Never. Your activity is private.

No. Social Matching activity and recommendations are anonymous to keep things free of pressure or bias.

Yes! You can invite your friends and request their input for Social Matching. The more friends you invite to contribute to Social Matching, the better your experience will be.

No. You do Social Matching for others, and others do it for you. We believe it's more fun and also more effective that way.

Once recommendations are curated, you get to view their full profile and decide whether or not you would like to connect with them. In this way, the final decision is yours.

This means you have several community curated recommendations waiting for a review.

When you take action on these recommendations (either accept or reject them), we learn about your preference and use that to make better pairs for you, which helps you get the kind of connections you want faster.

The recommendations you receive may come from two sources.

Community-curated recommendations, which have concluded positively after Social Matching, come to you with a Pink Heart and a Social Matching Score.

When users find your profile "riveting" and choose to skip Social Matching, they can send you a Direct Message before Social Matching concludes. These show up as "Golden Heart" recommendations.

Yes, to keep Social Matching fair and meaningful, we use two daily limits. First, there’s a soft limit—after a certain number of votes, you’ll stop earning Karma for participating and reviewing couples for the day. You can still continue Social Matching to improve your Judgment Score and you’ll still earn Karma for great judgment, for couples paired as well as Contrarian Wins!

Second, there’s a hard limit—once you hit it, you won’t be shown any more pairs for Social Matching for the rest of the day. All limits reset at midnight CST, and you’ll always see a clear in-app message when you reach either limit.

VERIFICATION

On Rivet, we ask users to carry out a "selfie verification," which is a quick video selfie to prove you are a real, live person, not a bot or someone different from your photos.

In a few seconds, our system checks and verifies that:

• You are a real person.

• Your face in the video selfie matches the face in your profile photos.

This helps us keep profiles authentic. Selfie verification does not include an identity verification. So always use your best judgment when interacting online and offline with other users.

A verified email makes your account safer, keeps you in the loop, and helps you get the full Rivet experience.

When you verify your email, you:

• Protect your account from fake profiles, spam, and unauthorized access.

• Receive important updates about your account, matches, and app features.

• Hear from support if you ever reach out for help.

• Receive legal and policy notices you might need to know about.

PURCHASES AND KARMA

Karma is the official in-app currency of Rivet. You earn Karma by helping others through Social Matching. Also, you are rewarded for being thoughtful and being a great judge of compatibility with additional Karma.

You can use Karma to view certain profiles and access premium features inside the app like Boost, Swap, and Direct Message to enhance your matching experience.

We encourage you to earn Karma on Rivet by actively participating in Social Matching. Alternatively, we provide the option to purchase Karma directly in the app. Just navigate to the 'Wallet' page and top up.

We allow certain users to redeem their Karma for money and gift cards as long as they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in our Creator Program Policy.

You can view the requirements on the 'Wallet' screen in your app. Once you qualify, just tap 'Redeem' on the same screen and follow the steps shown in-app to complete your payout.

Don't worry. Your Karma purchase is safe with us, and we'll help you sort it out.

Rivet purchases are only processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If you don't see your Karma:

• Confirm that the payment went through

Open the App Store / Google Play, go to your purchase history / order history, and confirm that the purchase shows as completed (not pending, failed, or canceled).

• Refresh the app

Check if you have a stable internet connection. Close the Rivet application and reopen it.

In some cases, logging out and logging back in can re-sync your balance.

If you fail to see the Karma credited on your account despite following the above steps, please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support for payment-related assistance.

You can also mail us at support@rivetdating.com with all relevant details so we can look into your case further!

KARMA REDEMPTION

To redeem Karma:

• Go to your Wallet in the app.

• Tap the Redeem button.

• Follow the on-screen instructions to submit your redemption request.

After submission, Rivet reviews your request and decides whether to approve it based on eligibility and Creator Program Policy compliance.

Earned Karma is what you accumulate by actively participating in the Rivet community. Only Earned Karma obtained through legitimate Qualifying Actions as detailed on the Platform are eligible for payouts.

You can earn Karma via Actions such as:

• Social Matching participation i.e. voting on couples.

• Successful Couple Paired: If a couple you voted on ends up matching.

• Contrarian Wins: if you voted "No", the community voted "Yes", but the couple ultimately did not match (because one or both said no).

Earned Karma reflects your engagement and Judgment within the app and can be redeemed once you meet the minimum redemption threshold and eligibility requirements.

Rivet reserves the right to audit and verify that all Earned Karma were obtained in compliance with the Creator Program Policy.

You can easily view your Earned Karma from your Wallet screen in the app.

Simply:

• Go to your Wallet.

• Under your wallet balance, tap "More Information."

This will show a detailed breakdown of your Total Karma Balance.

At the last published rate:

1,500 Earned Karma = $1.00 USD.

This rate may change and is communicated on the platform when updated.

Clicking Redeem starts the process, but Rivet will review your account, earnings legitimacy, and compliance before approval. Approval is at Rivet's discretion.

Once you reach the minimum redemption threshold for Earned Karma and successfully submit a redemption request, your request is first reviewed by our team to ensure it meets all eligibility and compliance requirements.

If your request is approved, you will receive an email from our payout partner with step-by-step instructions on how to claim and cash out your reward. Be sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) for this email.

Our payout partner and redemption process may change from time to time.

No. Once submitted, redemption requests are final and cannot be canceled or refunded.

Processing timelines can vary based on your location and payout partner, but Rivet typically reviews requests within 3-7 business days (this timeframe may change).

If Rivet discovers misuse (fraud, multiple accounts, bots, policy violations), your redemption may be denied, and your account may face additional actions such as temporary suspension or permanent removal from the program.

Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, any impacted Earned Karma may be re-credited to your wallet, or permanently forfeited at Rivet's discretion. Serious or repeated violations may result in loss of redemption privileges.

MATCHER IMPACT

If

1. You weighed in on a pair and felt that they could match AND

2. They both agreed to match with each other

You get the credit for pairing the couple as their matcher! This is the direct impact of your Social Matching efforts.

Lifetime Couples Paired is the total number of pairs that got matched on Rivet because you voted yes.

For "Top Matchers" weekly rankings, only the couples you paired during that week are counted.

On Rivet, we want to reward the matchers that vote thoughtfully and get it right. You get a Contrarian Win awarded for pairs that you weigh in, if

1. A strong majority of Rivet community matchers feel a pair should match

2. However, you felt that they wouldn't

AND

3. The pair did not match - either one or both of them passed on the other.

It is a measure of how good you are at Social Matching, measured by your thoughtfulness, accuracy and alignment with what daters eventually choose. MQ ranges between 1 and 999. The higher the score, the better you're doing as a Matcher.

We want to ensure that people match thoughtfully and intentionally, and also let you know when you are doing so. Your excellent instincts now come with bragging rights!

To be ranked, your Matcher Quotient needs to be above a threshold (of 650). If your MQ falls below the threshold, you will not be ranked. Vote thoughtfully and improve your MQ to rank back.
