About Rivet - The Social Matching App for Meaningful Relationships

For the last decade, I helped build some of the largest online dating apps in the world across multiple geographies. Across cultures, languages and generations, the one constant I’ve always known is that finding connections, feeling seen and loved are core human needs, even though the pursuit of a genuine connection can often feel exhausting and demotivating. Finding love is hard and relationships are messy, but then, it’s all truly worth it. 

When dating apps launched, they rapidly expanded the pool of who you could connect with, it added massive agency and joy to discovering someone new. But over the years, I saw how the joy disappeared and the algorithms worsened with scale, isolating people instead of bringing them together. People got tired, people started drifting apart instead of finding each other. Dating became a chore.

I started Rivet because I was convinced that there has to be a way to help people navigate finding love and meaningful relationships  that doesn’t  need you to outsource the most important decision of your life to an algorithm, or worse, to an AI bot. I found the answer in something we are all deeply familiar with: when it feels right, it usually is. Human intuition is incredibly powerful, but until now, there was no way to scalably and reliably unlock the power of collective human intuition. It’s actually often easier for others around us to spot chemistry with others than it is for ourselves. Rivet makes this possible with Social Matching, the first true innovation in online dating in over a decade. 

On Rivet, connection is collaborative, not competitive. The goal is to find the best-suited pairs, not to constantly rank people against each other. Everyone on Rivet is a Matcher, and as a Dater, you’re never alone, because on Rivet, the entire community is looking out for you, saying “Hey, I see you. Here’s someone that seems just your vibe!” And you do the same for everyone else, helping real people around you find love, which is incredibly fun and satisfying!
