MeantToBe Inc is a venture-backed early-stage startup with a new dating App - Rivet, currently in small beta.
Our unique approach combines deep cultural insight, AI, and a novel recommendation algorithm to deliver a social, fun, and effective dating experience that solves for both curation and scale, the holy grail in online dating.
Rivet is built on our proprietary "Social Matching", community wisdom and a unique karma economy that rewards genuine engagement.
Our team is led by founders with deep experience in launching and scaling dating apps globally as well as building scaled unicorn businesses from scratch. We are backed by top-tier Institutional VCs.
We are looking for a founder-minded GM to lead our initial city launches and then scale that playbook nationally.
The Role
We're looking for our first launch General Manager. You will be working directly with the founders and have significant ownership and ability to shape the direction of the brand. You will be responsible for owning the P&L, building teams, market activations and driving product direction.
What You'll Do
- • Co-create and drive the playbook to launch the product across multiple cities
- •Define go-to-market strategy for NYC launch and first 3-5 micromarkets
- •Design and execute hyper-local online and offline campaigns
- •Drive organic growth through campus, nightlife, and community activation
- •Own supply-demand balance and match quality in each market
- • Build and lead a go-to-market team to deliver on key KPIs
- •Build the US GTM team from the ground up
- •Hire and manage brand ambassadors, city leads, and community managers
- •Create and own influencer and creator partnership strategy
- • Lead events, brand partnerships, pop-ups, and college programs
- • Experiment with growth tactics across multiple channels
- • Track what's working, iterate quickly, and scale wins
- • Collaborate closely with founders and cross-functional partners
- •Be the consumer voice in the product roadmap
- •Work with global team on pricing, monetization, and growth mechanics
- •Represent Rivet with press, local partners and investors
What We're Looking For
- •5+ years of work experience (at least 2 years in consumer startup/2-sided marketplaces; ex-founder/founding team experience preferred)
- •Deep understanding of or genuine interest in dating culture
- •Self-starter who takes initiative and ownership
- •Strong people and leadership skills to build and lead teams independently
- •Strong execution ability; you're a doer, not just an ideas person
- •Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
Who You Are
You have prior experience in building and launching something. You understand what it takes to make a two-sided marketplace work in a new geography. You have strong marketing instincts, product intuition and operational rigour. Relevant experience maybe:
- •Early city operator at a two-sided marketplace (Uber, DoorDash, Airbnb)
- •City GM/Launch Leader or Head of Growth at a consumer social or dating app (Bumble, Hinge, Thursday, Lunchclub, or similar)
- •Growth/GTM leader or ex-Founder at an early-stage startup
- •Background in brand, partnerships, or community building
