Bullying & Abusive Content

Last updated on January 05, 2026

What's never okay

  • Bullying in any flavor - mocking, trolling, intimidating, dehumanizing, or talking down to someone.
  • Body-shaming or unasked-for comments about looks. Compliments are great; critiques aren't.
  • Cheering on harm or making threats (yes, even "not-serious" ones).
  • Emotional abuse or manipulation, and repeated unwanted contact after someone sets a boundary.
  • Blaming or shaming survivors of sexual assault, exploitation, harassment, or domestic abuse. We believe survivors.
  • Doxxing - sharing anyone's private info or photos without consent, or pressuring/blackmailing someone to reveal private info.
  • Creating profiles just to trash someone's reputation.
  • Content that disrespects people affected by suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. We protect these communities.

Similarly, we stand strongly against identity-based abuse and hate, which includes:

  • Using identity-based slurs or hateful labels.
  • Supporting or glorifying hate groups, or posting symbols/gestures/imagery linked to them.
  • Mocking, taunting, or pushing "superior/inferior" narratives about a protected group.
  • Dismissing or denying hate crimes or major historical atrocities.
  • Using the wrong pronouns or a name someone no longer uses to belittle them.
  • Reporting someone just because of their gender identity or another protected attribute.

Share your opinions, but keep it respectful. Criticism is okay, abuse isn't.

We review reports and may remove content or accounts that break these rules. Think we got it wrong? You can appeal by emailing us at support@rivetdating.com and we'll take another look.

Let's keep Rivet warm, safe, and drama-free for everyone.
