Senior Product Manager - Data & Gaming
Location: Gurgaon
Term: Full-time
Job description
We are a venture-backed, stealth mode company building the next global dating and social platform. Our mission is to fight loneliness and redefine how people connect in the age of AI.
We're not building another dating app. We're creating an experience where users feel: "This app gets me."
Our team is led by founders with deep experience in launching and scaling dating apps globally as well as building scaled unicorn businesses from scratch. Backed by top institutional capital, we are a high-growth startup on the ground floor of an ambitious journey to create a brand and product that stands out from the crowded dating app landscape. Our unique approach combines deep cultural insight, AI, and a novel recommendation algorithm to deliver a social, fun, and effective dating experience, solving for both curation and scale, the holy grail in online dating.
We are well-funded and backed by marquee VCs in India and the US.
The Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead the data and gaming side of our product. You'll own the systems that make MeantToBe smart and fun: the recommendation and matching engine, experimentation, and the game mechanics that keep people playing, engaging, and coming back.
If you love turning data into product decisions, understand what makes games addictive in a good way, and are passionate about dating and human relationships, this role is for you. You'll work directly with the founders and have real ownership from day one.
What You'll Do
- Own the roadmap for data-driven and gamified product areas, from discovery to launch
- Partner with data science and engineering to improve our recommendation and matching algorithm, defining success metrics and the signals it learns from
- Design and ship game mechanics such as voting, points, streaks, rewards, leaderboards, and progression that drive engagement and retention
- Build and run a strong experimentation culture: design A/B tests, read results rigorously, and make clear ship or kill calls
- Define, instrument, and track the key metrics that matter, from activation and engagement loops to retention and match quality
- Dig into behavioural data and user research to find insights and turn them into product bets
- Balance fun and fairness: make sure game and ranking systems feel rewarding, safe, and hard to game
- Lead cross-functional initiatives with engineering, design, data, and marketing
- Communicate product vision, results, and trade-offs to the founders and leadership
- Mentor and guide junior PMs and APMs as the team grows
Ideal Profile
Your superpowers are turning data into decisions and designing systems people love to play, with deep user empathy and an understanding of the dating ecosystem.
- 6–10 years of product management experience in consumer products, with significant time on data-heavy or gaming products
- Experience building in gaming, consumer social, or marketplace products is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience with recommendation systems, ranking, personalisation, or ML-driven products
- A strong grasp of game design principles: core loops, progression, rewards, and economies
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable with SQL and product analytics tools, and able to dig into data yourself
- Deep experience with A/B testing, experiment design, and statistical thinking
- Experience building mobile-first products
- A results-oriented mindset with a proven track record of shipping products that moved key metrics
- Technical fluency to work effectively with engineering and data science teams
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
Bonus points for experience in dating apps, live or real-time social products, or behavioural economics.
